From toddlers to teens, cancer is the second leading cause of death (after accidents). In the United States, more than 13,000 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year. But the survival rate continues to improve, averaging 80 percent – thanks to increasingly specialized treatments, leading-edge expertise and ground-breaking research. The Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center is leading the way. We are the only provider of care for children and teens with cancer and blood disorders in the 25 counties we serve. With more than 5,000 visits annually, The Melodies Center is a regional health care resource, offering highly specialized and effective care to children and their families.
By making a donation to The Melodies Center today, you make a direct and lasting impact on families in our community that are confronted with a heart-breaking diagnosis. Thanks to your support, they can find the care they need right here at home – at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med.
